Dan Smythe, 8 SM, Treasurer and beloved Midsouth SCCA Member took his Final Checkered Flag on Saturday, August 28th 2010. A truly nice guy and a fierce competitor, he will be missed. Ride alongs with Dan were most memorable; he was always on the ragged edge of control, but rarely over. We will miss his leadership, friendship and competitive spirit. Dan stood as a member of the Midsouth Regions Board of Directors as Solo Chair and later Treasurer. My thanks to Dan, I was honored to call him a friend, prayers of comfort to his family and friends.

Dan was in his early forties, dominated at Midsouth Regional, and Midwest Division levels, very competitive at the National Tour and Pro Solo and an up and coming driver at the National Championships.

RIP Dan, we will remember you as a Leader and Pure Competitor.
